ABOUT THE ARTIST
Bruno Mattos Rubeiz is a Queer, Latino writer-director. Originally from tropical Salvador in Brazil, Bruno got his BFA in Film at Emerson College in Boston. His undergraduate thesis film A New Friend, a drama about two friends that begin to drift apart after one of them changes into a vampire, got him accepted into the MFA Film program at Columbia University. Bruno’s work is focused on expanding the boundaries and notions of masculinity as well as exploring the tenuous boundaries between the realistic and the fantastic. Bruno’s stories live in the intersection of those elements.
